We had a great time on our trip to/from Dallas for Everly's adoption finalization. There were a few notable stops:
Ikea - how could we travel anywhere without Shauna finding an Ikea? We took a picture of the flags, because we thought it represented Everly's ethnic heritage rather well, seing as how she's born in Texas, a large percentage Swedish, and then the rest of her is an American mix - like the rest of us.
On our way to Dallas, we stopped in Midland, Texas, for a night. There wasn't a whole lot going on, so we took Asher to a local playground and when we returned to the car, the battery wouldn't start... While popping the hood and managing our frustration, a kind woman stopped and gave us a jump. When we mentioned that we would be travelling on to Dallas to finalize Everly's adoption, the woman, without any apprehension or shame, asked if she could pray with us.
She offered a beautiful, heartfelt prayer for our family and safe journey that touched our whole family.
We were impressed that she would be so willing to share her faith with strangers, and vowed that we would try harder to be more open about our faith.
Always the connoiseurs of free food, we also took advantage of the annual talk/dress like a pirate and get a free dozen donuts at Krispy Kreme. You can see how excited Sean was as he ordered his food with a "matee" and made a hook with his fingers...
Great Wolf Lodge
This place was amazing - we are already planning a trip back when we finish up in Ciudad Juarez. Indoor waterpark, decent food, focus on safety - it was great.
The "Great Wolf Lodge" bucket would fill up with water and then turn over, drenching everyone in a deluge...
