Gjiri i Lalzit Beach

A couple of weekends ago, we decided we needed to get out of Tirana and head to the beach.  The weather was nice, and we were restless, so to the beach we went!  We packed up the car, and on our way out the door, Asher grabbed his hat and insisted we put it on him.  Go Colts!

We hadn't been to Gjiri i Lalzit before, and were excited when we got there and saw these beautiful views waiting for us...

The minute we put Asher down, he was off to the water!!

We were surprised at how quickly he took to the water, considering it was a little chilly still.  But he loved it!

My boys :)

We went with another family who has a little boy Asher's age.  Here is a picture of their oldest.
It was just a beautiful day with beautiful views.

We got the beach toys out, and all the kids had a great time digging, and making sand castles.

Our trouble makers!

Asher loved going to the water, and filling up whatever could be filled :)

I didn't get a picture of what happened next.  I'm sure you can figure it out though -
Destroy the castles!!!

Father and son.

I finally gave Sean a break from playing with Asher all day ;)

Asher and I had a grand time digging a hole that filled with water.

Asher's own private pool :)

At the end of the day, the wind had started to pick up.  After we ate lunch, we wrapped Asher in a towel and then headed home.  It was a great day!

Now that Asher is really into water, this summer is going to be filled with pools and beaches.  Woohoo!

Let the Water Days Begin!

On Tuesday, we had the greatest day!  The day started out with Sean being home, since May Day is a holiday here.  Then Asher slept in until about 8:15-8:30, which means that his parents got to sleep in too!  Yay!  Being well rested, we slowly got up, took our time getting ready, and Sean made breakfast: blueberry pancakes and sausages.  Yum!  Asher loves to pick each blueberry out of the pancake before he eats the rest, so he had blue fingers for the rest of the day.

We then went outside to the playground; we played and relaxed with the neighbors while the parents got some much needed down time.  It was a very hot day on this first of May, so I made a decision.  It was time to bring on the water!  We borrowed a little pool and a kid's sprinkler from a neighbor.  Filled the pool, got our bathing suits on, and turned on the sprinkler!  And what a great couple of hours we had!  Here are some pictures of our day :)

"Hey!  What's the deal with this so-called "pool"?  Are you kidding me with this?
Seriously guys, could it be any smaller?"

Slowly, he inched his way into the water...

He then realized that he just might like this whole sprinkler thing!

And off he went! :)

He found out he could control the water too - woohoo!

Then daddy showed him that he could jump over the sprinkler!

And Asher, who will never say no to jumping gave it a go - Good job little man!

Asher and his friends cooling off their feet :)

Watering the plants and trees :)

Our handsome, wet little boy :)

Flying with daddy!

Woohoo!  Driving in my sweet pink car, and looking good!

Asher was determined to bring the car into the pool with him...obviously it didn't work so well...

He ended up throwing a little fit, so the car went away.  Even though he was saying please :)

And then Sean's other side came out...

And kids got a little more wet :)

Though they took it very well - thank goodness!

But sister wanted revenge ;)  Get Sean!!!

Watch out for Asher!

Ha ha!  That'll teach you to sneak up on me!

My wonderful boys!

Just going about his business.

The two little trouble makers!  Watch out for these guys!

We had such a great day!  Water in the morning, a nice long nap, then dinner at the chicken shack!  We couldn't be happier!  Happy May Day!
