8 Months Old and Celebrating Thanksgiving

Don't be confused by the Christmas tree in the background, this is not a Christmas post.  We set up the tree before leaving for Thanksgiving in Arizona with Sean's family.

Everly's 8 month photos:

Throughout late October and early November, we had a visitor at our back door.  The kids were enthralled with the stray kitten that was living in our backyard (this seems to be a regular occurrence here).

Whenever we would put Everly down, she would make a beeline for the back door to look at/try to touch the kitten through the glass.

Alas, all of this fun ended with a lesson on the circle of life, when the cat stopped coming to the door one day and upon further investigation, Sean found it lying prone in the backyard.  A garbage bag clean up and quick discussion of death, disease, and the uncertainty of life followed.  Asher took it like a champ.

A family night Jenga game gone awry.  Asher challenged Sean to fit as many pieces as possible in his mouth.  Sean did not hesitate.

Arizona for Thanksgiving.  No photos of food, just of family lounging around...

Everly and her cousin, who is three months older than her.  They were having a great time just hanging out with (or lying on) each other.

Shannon was visiting us the day that Everly was born.  We drove her to the airport in the morning and then that night, we got word that Everly was born in Austin.  This was the first time that she met Everly.

Two babies?  I got this!

Aunt Meghan gets a turn too!

One of the afternoons, we were able to go out to lunch, just the siblings.  We went to a Swedish/Polish/German restaurant, and it was delicious!

These two crazy boys had a blast playing with each other.

Asher and Lincoln.  I can't tell from these photos whether Lincoln was actually enjoying himself, or being manhandled into doing whatever Asher wanted to avoid being squashed...

The cousins!  (Minus Everly, who was taking a nap at the time)

Before we left, Asher got to hang out one last time with his favorite Aunt, Shannon.  We love these family trips, and strengthening the bonds of our kids with their cousins.  Happy Thanksgiving!
