The Coolest Zoo Trip Ever

On another beautiful day in early April, we decided to go to the zoo!  And it was pretty fun to see Asher and Andelyne interact with the animals :)

 

That's one big fish!

 

This was probably the coolest part of our trip.  We got to see the seal pretty up close and personal.  If you held out your hand, the seal would go towards it, thinking you had food.

 

The seal played with Asher and Andelyne, and they really enjoyed it!

 

The glass was so clear that it looking like we were looking down into the water, instead of directly into it behind the glass.

 

 

As we were about to go, a guy came up to the glass and was making big circles with his arm, and the seal was following his hand thinking there was something in it.  The seal was swimming in these big circles, and swirling paths for the longest time as he followed the guy's hand.  It was pretty cool.

These two pictures reminded me of the movie Return to Me, when the wife would interact with the chimp.  It's one of my favorite movies, so I had to capture it :)

 

Apparently, Asher started getting tired, because all throughout the reptile house, he kept lying down in front of the cases :)

 

NBD - No big deal, I'm just taking a nap next to a giant python.

 

And this giant spikey turtle...

 

 

But then he started to take some interest in it, especially when it began opening its mouth nice and wide...

 

Unfortunately, I didn't a picture of it, but the turtle would open its mouth, and then Asher would open his mouth at the turtle and roar a little.  It was cute :)

 

We had a great day, and saw lots of fun animals!  Thanks DC Zoo!
