Christmas Lights in Tirana

Merry Christmas Tirana!

Continuing on in my posts that I am now forcing myself to finish - The lights of Tirana :)

They really do a decent job of bringing Christmas festivities to this post-Communist city.  We were able to take a walk with some friends on a December night.  It was great to go out and enjoy the city at night!

We love the fierce looking, double headed eagle that is the emblem of their country's flag.

Asher and his good friend had some good times with each other.  They are best of buds!  Always making each other laugh :)

Dad trying to contain the silliness :)  Good luck!

The lights over the roads in downtown Tirana.

Ministry/Government buildings in downtown Tirana

I thought they did a really nice job beautifying this part of the city.

Skenderbeg Square!  With the National History museum in the background.

Albanian historical mural on the museum...

Mosque in downtown Albania.

The boys being silly and too big for their strollers :)

One of our many attempts at family pictures :)

"Holy big Christmas tree, batman!"

Having fun...

"Hide it under a bushel?  Oh no!  I'm gonna let it shine" :)

The little walking area around Skanderbeg Square, all decked out in lights.

I don't know why, other than it looks like he's levitating, but I love this picture :)

Skenderbeg!

Santa's Village...(sponsored by Coca Cola)

Sean with his secret, or not so secret, love :)

More lovely lit buildings surrounding Skenderbeg Square...

Tirana's attempt at a Christmas market...it was a bit of a let down when I had been hoping to get to the Munich Christmas Markets all year...Unfortunately, I didn't make it and this is my consolation prize. Lame.

But the lights were pretty!

Thanks Albania for a very nice Christmas season!
