Cloud Croft, New Mexico

On Labor day weekend, we decided that we needed to explore.  We went on a little trip to Cloud Croft, New Mexico.  This little town has old west style facades on their buildings downtown, and is just a quaint little town to walk around in.  I didn't get too many pictures, but here is one of the buildings on the main street.

A beautiful bundle of peppers.

While in Cloud Croft, we stumbled upon a shop that does Old West style photos.  Embracing the culture and planning ahead for our 2013 Christmas Card, we jumped right in.  Asher wanted to be a cowboy, Sean wanted to be a Mexican freedom fighter, and Shauna wanted to be anything that dodn't show off too much skin - below are the results, the first one was supposed to be serious, then happy, then crazy (apparently Shauna felt the need for a weapon in the crazy photo):

Nearby there is a little hike to a waterfall and we were planning on going there.  Unfortunately, it started to drizzle halfway through our visit and then it started to rain and then it started to hail.  We crossed the waterfall off our to do list that day.  We did get ice cream though!!

We were on our way to the car at this point, but we got stuck in the downpour.  We had some fun in it though!

And then it started to hail - of course.  Once again - stuck!

Asher had fun playing with the hail.

We finally made it to our car and started through the mountains home.  It is beautiful there.

As we were driving home, we saw a sign for the "World's Largest Pistachio".  We couldn't pass that opportunity up, so we took a little detour :)

There it is!

Asher and Daddy being silly.

A nice, scenic little detour.

So Strong!

After buying some delicious pistachio brittle, we were off back to home.  But not before we took a picture of our honored parking space :)  It was a fun little trip, and hopefully if we do get back, it will be with better weather!
