Happy New Year!... About 6 months late :)
We celebrated the New Year with a little King cake. We closely watched Asher as we allowed him to do the honors of cutting the cake. Eeek!
He did a great job though, and on his first cut he found the baby Jesus! Good job Asher! Now you owe us tamales on Día de la Candelaria (Feb 2).
Everly experienced her first snow!! And here we thought it doesn't snow in the south west!
Everly just keeps getting bigger! She started crawling and is enjoying her new found freedom.
These two goofy kids keep bringing us joy and laughter :)
One of Asher's favorite books right now is the Human systems book. It teaches all about the different systems of the body. Thank you Grammy Babs for sending on this great book! Every time he bumps himself he will run to the book and look up what part of his body was hurt :)
One other event we were able to experience was the Mexican dinner and cultural show at Viva Mexico! Now THAT was an experience!
There was all kinds of traditional dances that were fun to watch...
Dresses were a-swirling,
Swords were being bandied about...
Deer were being hunted...
Lassos were being thrown about in some crazy awesome ways...
And of course, Americans were brought on the stage to be mercilessly mocked :) It was an enjoyable night all around!
