Roswell, NM & Carlsbad Caverns

Since we are living in the southwest, we knew that we had to take advantage of some of the local attractions!  We made a weekend of it with some friends and headed to Roswell, New Mexico and Carlsbad Caverns.

First stop, Roswell!

Hello, Aliens!!

Honestly, we just wanted to see some awesome aliens, so we went to the UFO Museum!

Asher had a lot of fun :)

Stand around the aliens, everyone!

Then we went to the Alien Zone.  Basically it is a large, commercial area that has been turned into an awesome place to take pictures with some crazy aliens :)

This one was being a little too friendly for Asher's liking :)

Just hanging out with these guys :)

"Where do you think we landed??  Are we alone?? Your head feels funny."

Asher got to fly a real spaceship!  His friends taught him how.  So nice of them!

Unfortunately, there was a price for that little lesson...eeek!

Our next stop was Carlsbad Caverns - it was really amazing!  We were not expecting what we saw.

Gearing up and getting ready to go in :) Babies? Check!

Winding path leading into darkness?  Check!

Everyone excited??  Eh, we'l take what we can get :)

A lot of the pictures that showed how large this cavern is, did not turn out.  Once we hiked down, down, down for about 45 min, we made it to the cavern and it was HUGE!

Here are a few pictures of the incredible world beneath us.

One of the original ladders into a bottomless hole...not very sturdy, if you ask me!

Scary creatures lurked around every corner :)

We made it to the bottom, and walked around the mile long loop that took us all around.

We were so glad we made it to the fun places!  It was a great trip and we highly recommend getting there if you can!
