Here's a brief synopsis of our pre-Everly activities in February and March.
The arrival of a new baby also means the arrival of additional boxes of baby paraphernalia.
In a town where there are no trees, leaves are scant, so packing paper doubles as leaf piles...
I can't think of a more appropriate photo to document the effects of Coca Cola...
We slipped away in early February to Ruidoso, a ski town. We wanted to take Asher tubing and assumed that this might be our last chance to go somewhere as a family of three.
Imagine our apprehension when on the beautiful 74 degree day we were greeted with the following scenery:
It didn't seem like there would be snow for tubing, but the miracles of modern technology never cease to amaze... one small sub-section of the mountain was covered in man-made snow.
So, we went tubing in beautiful 74 degree weather in New Mexico!
Asher was fearless! He zipped down the hill and somewhat cheerfully carted his tube back up.
He even irritated some of the preteen staff by climbing the ice mounds...
I love these next two photos - Asher, the intrepid and patriotic (U.S. flag whipping in the background) explorer, braving the elements to reach the summit and looking back on what he's accomplished.
A snow ball fight ensued, of course...
The below was not exactly a Ruidoso Winter Park-sanctioned activity,
but if Sean wasn't there, Asher would have likely tried it anyway...
February and March were also full of zoo trips
The zoo also has a splash park - Asher and his friends were loving it!
And yes, Asher spent the rest of the zoo trip shirtless... Sometimes you just have to lean in.
We also visited the Ciudad Juarez Temple. An oasis in the middle of the desert - the clouds cooperated beautifully for picture-perfect photos.
St. Paddy's Day - we had a get-together with some friends later in the evening, but early in the day, Asher and Sean showed their Irish spirit...
