New Year’s Resolution #1… Be more active about blogging :)
We had a great Thanksgiving - Lots of good food, and great company! We were joined by our friends, the Porters, who will be moving to Albania with us later this year. They have three kids, and their youngest, Tate, was born on the exact same day as Asher! They will be great friends over the next two years and will soon be spouting out random words in Albanian :)
After our delicious dinner, while the men watched the babies, the girls started their Thanksgiving weekend shopping. Since we are moving out of the country, we had to stock up on Christmas items at great prices!! Thank you Michaels for the great buys! Unfortunately, since Asher still required nightly attention, I was unable to participate in the early morning Black Friday shopping. Maybe in two years, sigh :)
While Asher didn’t get to eat any of the good food, here he is stuffing his face while cuddling with the turkey that - for some unknown reason - randomly appears around the house not just during Thanksgiving, but periodically throughout the year.
Hopefully, next Thanksgiving in Albania will be just as good, if not better. I need to run to the store and stock up on pumpkin filling for pies, and cranberry sauce. Although Sean might disagree, it isn't Thanksgiving without jellied cranberry sauce straight out of the can!
As for what we are thankful for: that one is pretty obvious. We are thankful for the addition of Asher in our lives. We are thankful for Claire, her selfless nature, and the wonderful gift she has given us. We are thankful for our family and friends who have been such a blessing for us these past few years in Maryland. We have made so many lifelong friends, and it will be tough to say goodbye when we move. Thank you everyone!!
