The Grand Canyon!

Since we are living in the southwest, we realized this would be one of the easiest times to get to the Grand Canyon.  We went to Sean's sister's house for Easter, and tied in a mini trip from there to the Grand Canyon and had a great time!

We decided to stay in Williams, Arizona; there is a train station where you can take the Grand Canyon Express up to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

The train idea was a big hit with the kids!  It was about a two hour and fifteen minute ride, but the kids did great on the ride.

Asher loved looking out the window.

Everly even had a fun time on the train.

We had old-fashioned entertainment to help pass the time...

Asher loved it, but Everly was especially enthralled by the live music.  It was great!

And some treats, of course.

We passed the North Pole on the way up!
(During the winter this train transforms into the Polar Express for the kids)

Then we arrived!!!

"What?  That's it??"  Kids these days.  They take everything for granted :)

And here are a "few" of the many pictures from this beautiful creation...

Notice the death grip on Asher :)  We were just a bit nervous about bringing him here, but he actually did a great job of being careful and not getting close to the edge.
Thankfully, Everly stayed in the stroller :) Success!!

Yay!  The rare picture of Shauna - She's usually the one behind the camera, but we finally got one!

The family.

Lunch by the canyon.

Eeeek!!  The picture makes him look closer to the edge than he really is.

Everly about ready to fall asleep.

And she's out.

Silly Asher.

More canyon shots...

After a wonderful day at the Canyon, we hopped back on the train and made the return trip home.

On the way home, the train was robbed!!

Asher was asleep for it, but we didn't want him to feel like he missed something, so we made sure he was apart of it still :)  Stealing from a sleeping child!?!  The nerve!

Everly too :)

Then the Sheriff came by trying to hunt those robbers down.

We had a great time, and were able to come back to the hotel and relax.

Love these two :)

Pool time!

Swimming without floats!  Yay!

Thank you Grand Canyon and train for the great time!! Our kids (and we) loved it!
